Minutes
of Baldwin Hills ARC Meeting 7/1/98
The sixth 1998 meeting of the Baldwin Hills
Amateur Radio Club was called to order by the President, Ed, KD6LT,
at 1942 on July 1, 1998. Also in attendance were Dieter, KD6LVW,
the Vice-President; and Hugh, NV6H,
the Secretary.
I. Old Business
- The Secretary read his way cool minutes,
which were accepted as read.
- The Vice-President reported on the testing
session at Jun's, where 18 people took various elements. Two more tests
were given at Field Day, neither one was passed. The Club scored one (1)
point at FD. This took some doing. TASMA is reworking the entire 2 meter
band plan, which needs it. The SCDCC didn't meet, due to Field Day.
- The President also reported on Field Day,
Due to El Nino, we ended up doing it at the Baldwin Hills repeater site.
Ed notes that it was "interesting." There were eleven people
there. Along with the contest and its one (1) point, there was a tailgate
barbeque and a site cleanup.
II. New Business
- The Vice-President suggested that, if the
Club can get a cheaper meeting room in 1999, the next year's dues could
be lowered accordingly. This matter is still open, for anyone who wants
to get in their $.02.
With this, we adjourned at 1959, 17 minutes
after starting, which ought to be some sort of record, until August 5, 1998.
Submitted for approval this 5th
day of August, 1998
